Banking guest speaker connects study with industry
OPAIC master’s students gained insight into real-world banking practices during a guest lecture for the Management Information Systems course last week.
Lecturer Nishika Jayasinghe organised the session and invited ASB Bank Technical Analyst Hemantha Niranjan as the guest speaker.
Hemantha showed how the concepts taught in the course are applied in real banking environments.
The session helped students connect classroom learning with industry practice and gain a clearer understanding of how their studies align with current expectations in the banking sector.
Nishika said the presentation was highly valuable for our students as it helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
“This session gave students greater confidence and a clearer understanding of how the knowledge they gain through OPAIC courses aligns with current industry practices and expectations.”
