Construction students visit Steel and Tube factory
Our Construction students had an excellent opportunity to visit a Steel and Tube factory and experience the manufacturing process for steel purlins, cladding and composite flooring.
Robert Brown and his team at Steel and Tube patiently detailed every step of the process and were kind enough to answer all our questions. The factory tour was followed by a brief presentation including further technical details on the raw materials used, their suppliers, and the performance of their products.
Our learners were excited to check out the construction components of industrial building. Learners had an opportunity to relate their in-class technical learning to the real world.
The Steel and Tube team also very generously provided us with refreshments. We appreciate the team as well as our students who attended despite extreme weather.
