Navigating the future of tech
Students and tech enthusiasts gathered at our Auckland International Campus last week for an inspiring session with Sheryl Lorgan, Director and Co-Founder of assessHR.
With over 60 attendees, the event offered a timely look into the evolving tech landscape and how emerging professionals can stand out in a competitive job market.
Sheryl drew on her extensive experience in both retail and IT distribution to explore key industry trends, including the growing influence of AI, skill shortages across the sector, and shifting employer expectations. Her message was clear: while the industry is changing fast, there are plenty of opportunities for those who are proactive and adaptable.
The session concluded with a Q&A where students asked thoughtful questions about career transitions, entry-level pathways, and how to build confidence when navigating job applications. Sheryl responded with actionable advice, making the experience informative and encouraging for all who attended.
The event was co-organised by CITANZ and hosted at Auckland International Campus, with support from the Employability Team.
